It officially turns to spring on 20th March, but I can feel it in the air already. This time of year is famous for the ‘spring clean’. It’s when we start to see life again outside after a dark winter. I’ve been thinking about a few pieces which will brighten up my home and give it a spring feel.
Introduce some subtle colour into the home with some gorgeous pastel blue. This colour looks great in every room, but particularly in the kitchen to give it a clean fresh look, like in this image courtesy of www.greathomeinterior.com
We love our pale blue industrial Tolix chairs, which will add a retro look to your dining area. Place around a rustic table to create the industrial look or around a formica bench for a modern retro style.
Add a splash of pastel to your living area with this gorgeous hand made cushion, by Holly Murray. These cushions are handmade from vintage fabrics, so each one is unique!
Bring outdoors in and be inspired by nature in your home. A bright green rug will brighten up your space and will inspire you! According to research the colour green gets our creative juices flowing. So place this green rug in your home studio or office to spark your imagination at work.
For more nature in the home how about our quirky Fresian cow head? The black detail on the cow is made from beautiful crushed glass.
Quirky fact: The cow is considered India’s most sacred animal
BIRDS AND BUTTERFLIES
Home interiors are inspired by beautiful birds and butterflies this spring. Embrace the bright colours and embellish your home with bird and butterfly images. Butterflies are a symbol of transformation, celebrate them in your home to remind you of the changes you are going to make to improve your life in 2013.
Our sweet cream bird cage looks beautiful as on your bedside, filled with some night lights. Or place it in your conservatory or outside to add charm to your space.
Our Theodora mirror has stunning floral and butterfly detail. Hang over a chest of drawers in your bedroom or find a spot in your kitchen or living room.
