The temperatures have been hotting up. The festival season is in full swing. Wimbledon is only one week away. It can only mean one thing…Summer has officially arrived!
Are you ready?
With the optimistic, albeit hushed, reports that we are set for a scorcher it’s worth getting kitted out to make the most of the sunshine. And there’s some great events over the next few months that will give you every opportunity maximise your Summer party purchases.
Let’s have a look at some of them below and see what you need to make the most of the Summer fun this year.
1) World Cup Barbecues
In case you didn’t notice, and honestly you must have (it’s pretty hard to escape!), the World Cup in Brazil kicked-off last week. For the football lovers it means night after night of nail biting soccer action in the home country of the Samba stars. For those that aren’t so fond of the beautiful game it might seem like six weeks of hell.
However, one thing everyone can enjoy is a good old fashioned BBQ. Even if the cause for celebration is an England game on ITV! (Adrian Chiles, eurgh…)
So with a hot summer predicted and plenty of football action encouraging social get togethers why not invest in a new garden table to aid in hosting the festivities? We have the perfect addition in stock right now: a rustic Iron Garden or Conservatory Table that has been reduced from £85 to £65. Bargain!
2) Wimbledon Watching
Even Tennis naysayers have a soft spot for Wimbledon. We suspect it might have something to do with the strawberries and cream. And this year there’s even more reason to keep an eye on the ongoings at the all England lawn and tennis club as Andy Murray seeks to defend his crown.
Personally we believe the best way to watch Wimbledon is with an ice cold glass of the finest Pimms you could possible imagine. And there’s no better way of creating it then mixing up your master piece in our vintage style Silver Plate Punch Bowl. Embossed with a gorgeous grape and vine detail it’s a weighty number that can hold a fair amount of liquid. Good to know!
3) Festival Fever
The Summer is full of music festivals. So much so there’s simply too many to name. Whether you’re into classic rock, modern electronic dance music, contemporary pop or simply like the idea of roughing it in a field for three days, there’s something out there for everyone.
The highlight of the year for many is the Reading Festival held over August Bank Holiday weekend. But even if you’re not attending an event this year you can still partake in the fun by recreating the atmosphere at home. And the August Bank Holiday is as good a weekend as any…
So yourself up outside, invite over your friends, open up the patio doors and stick the festival highlights on the TV. Then pretend you’re in the VIP lounge by popping open a few cold bottles of champagne and keep them cool in our charming Alfred Gratien Silver Plated Wine Cooler.
Here’s hoping to a hot one!
